Ranked #1 with a score of 1.095, Iceland tops the index for the 17th consecutive year, excelling in safety, minimal militarisation, and zero internal or external conflict. 

 Ireland

Maintains second place with a score of 1.260, praised for low crime, political stability and democratic institutions. 

New Zealand

Climbed two spots to third with 1.282, strong on societal safety and peace treaty with Māori contributing. 

Austria

Fourth at 1.294, Austria combines political harmony, economic security and low militarisation. 

Switzerland

Also scoring 1.294, Switzerland’s historic neutrality and low crime guarantee its fifth-place standing. 

Singapore

Asia’s sole representative in top 10 at 1.357, excelling in conflict avoidance and legal order.

Portugal

Ranked 7th with score 1.371, Portugal rises with improving crime perception and social stability. 

Denmark

At 1.393, Denmark ranks eighth; high social equality and stability offset slight militarisation uptick. 

Slovenia

Maintains ninth with score 1.409; benefits from effective governance and minimal social unrest. 

Finland

Returns to top ten at tenth with 1.420, praised for personal security and institutional trust.
