Charminar is called the heart of Hyderabad. Its architecture and beauty make it historic.
Heart of Hyderabad
Charminar was built in 1591 AD by Sultan Mohammed Quli Qutub Shah. He ruled Golconda for many years.
When was it built
He built Charminar so that it could connect the path of Golconda and Machilipatnam.
Why was it built
Charminar got its name from two different words. Four is the number of its towers and minar is the name of the tower.
Two words
Granite, marble and mortar material have been used to build Charminar. These stones used to be expensive and strong at that time.
Expensive stones
The four doors of Charminar open in four different paths and directions. This makes it easy for people to reach anywhere.
Four different paths
Indian and Islamic style paintings have also been done on Charminar.

A mosque is also built on the upper floor of Charminar. Earlier people used to go there to offer prayers. Also, there was a clock on every tower but now there are no clocks.

To reach the top of Charminar, you will have to climb 149 stairs. But from the top, you can see a beautiful view of the entire city.

The beauty of Charminar looks even better in the evening. In the evening, golden and other lights are lit on Charminar, which shine.
